Golf For All Ages and Disabilities

Admin

Throughout our counselling, we have found the sport of golf to be an effective tool for healthy living.

The game of golf can meet your needs emotionally, physically, and mentally.

  • Engaging in a sport is a great community activity that offers social engagement and multiple health benefits
  • Golf is the ideal sport to meet new friends, increase your confidence and get out and about
  • It reduces stress – just walking in an open and natural environment will relax your mind and body
  • Playing golf keeps the mind alert and increases your coordination

Regardless of your age or disability, golf is a sport that can accommodate many physical obstacles with the right mindset.

Would you like to include golf in your social life? We can help you.

Learning this sport attracts all ages whether you want to be competitive or just play a social game and get to know your fellow golfers.

If you have been approved for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) or maybe an aged care package, there is no reason you cannot try golf out and you will be supported in every way. From organizing the equipment you will need, to help you integrate socially, your requirements are taken care of.

There are two main benefits of playing golf.

You will be moving and getting more exercise. This will help to prevent many health conditions, strengthen your muscles, and make you more flexible when you move about. It can also help you to manage your weight which is vital as you mature.

You will get out and about and make new friends.

Socialising while you learn and play golf increases your confidence, and it provides a sense of positive thinking that will stay with you long after the game finishes. Plus you meet new people and make new friends.

The game of golf is a life changer. You can learn at your speed while you acclimatize to this new community.

‘Why Golf?’ you may ask.

The answer is simple. Learning to play is easy and at your own pace, it gets you out in the fresh air, you get to meet new people and form friendships, and has many lifestyle benefits.

  • When you are out learning how to play golf, it increases your feeling of well-being and you feel better in yourself and with your life.
  • Positive feelings radiate at every small achievement that you make. These positive feelings drive you to continue and give you something to look forward to in the future.
  • Golf courses are wonderfully relaxing places. There is nothing like a walk at your own pace within a group or person of a similar mindset, around the course while breathing in that clean, fresh air.
  • It can help to improve muscle strength and stamina, relaxes those tight joints, increase balance control, and will give you a sense of achievement with every putt or swing.

Meeting new people on the golf course can lead to interesting social events and meetings as you expand your circle of influence.

Strangers can quickly become friends which opens up a valuable new community. Golf is fun, it can be competitive, but it is a wonderful way to get out and get moving around.

Do You Need Help Getting Mobile?

Depending on your situation, you may need help or support to take part in golfing activities. The purpose of the NDIS is to ‘provide equipment assistive for recreation or assistive for technology.’

We can assess you for the type of aids and equipment you need to participate in the golf lessons and social activities from your inclusion.

We can help you with those personal things that might put you off due to embarrassment.

  • Are you are not as mobile as you used to be? We can provide support.
  • Nervous without a support worker to help you? They can come too!
  • Lack of transport – you don’t know how you would get to the golf course? Let us solve that for you.

Please don’t let any personal concerns put you off learning to play golf!

We can sort out the logistics and do whatever we can to help you make golfing possible, and it will be done confidentiality.

Golf is the one sport that encourages growth and development on an individual level.

It also releases endorphins, those feel-good hormones which boost your mood and well-being.

If you are interested, please call me now. As a golfer myself, I know just how good the benefits are. I would love to introduce you to golf, your new sport.

When it comes to changing habits, there are often mixed feelings. We all have habits . Some good, some not so good and others that are just plain bad for us. However, it’s our habits that identify strong elements of our personality and who we are as people. Habits also serve to put elements of our routine on ‘autopilot’ in order to free up our thinking and decision making. Now, this is a good thing if you are doing the same thing every day and your routine perfectly matches the lifestyle you want to live. When we are not happy with our lives, want to improve our situation or want to improve ourselves, this is when our habits can really hold us back. Because most habits are created and carried out subconsciously, they can be very hard to break. Hard but not impossible. And if you want to be the best version of you and change your life for the better then changing habits is one fundamental element you must navigate. Read on to find out what my top strategies are for changing habits to be the best version of you:
