How You Can Benefit from Counselling

Admin
Counselling — Brisbane, QLD — Astuteology

Counselling is a process that can help you to clarify your problem, cope with your feelings, explore the opportunity for change while helping you to develop the confidence and personal skills to manage your situation.

Going it alone is difficult, but a shared problem with a qualified counsellor can help you to find your path to what you want to achieve.

The Benefits of Our Guidance

Whatever your age, your health status, or whether you have a disability, counselling will assist you with;

  • Developing increased confidence and managing anxiety
  • Exploring different avenues and opportunities for change
  • Finding ways to make better choices and decisions
  • Improve your skills that will increase your options
  • Clarifying the problem and learning management methods.

We will help you to clarify what is at the root of your problem. Often it requires changing the way you think or do things.

You can change your actions but if you don’t believe in the changes it can hold your progress back. Discussing it with a qualified person is all about making small changes, and building on the success of each step.

Having a Counsellor on Your Team Provides That Edge You Need

If you want your life to reach its full potential, having someone to back you up, discuss your options, or just run it past an unbiased person is a great tool to getting control over yourself and your life.

We offer support to those who feel that they don’t have any.

Working together, we can reduce the impact and influence of those painful situations or thoughts that can keep you stuck in the past.

Breaking negative cycles and achieving positive results is the quickest way to get your life back on track.

Your Words are The Key to Your Success

We listen carefully to the words you use, as they can guide us to prompt you with further questions to ensure we are helping you fully.

For example, if you say you are unhappy, your life is depressing, or that you are tired of everything. Rather than offering sympathy or empty words, we will prompt you to respond to several pertinent questions.

  • What is it about your life that you are unhappy with? (clarifying the problem)
  • What are the things that make your life depressing? (pinpointing specific target areas)
  • Is it your family relationships that are a problem, a health problem, or perhaps a business concern that you need help with? (defining the problem).

A Counsellor Looks at the Keywords That You Use in Your Conversation

This enables us to understand where you need help the most. The better we can understand the key areas and phrases that you use, the sooner we can understand the real issue as opposed to the preconceived problem from your perspective.

The real problem is often hidden under layers of carefully created disguise, but once we get to the heart of the problem then the solution can be tailored to your unique requirements.

Confidential Sessions Online Are Exceptionally Successful

The advantage of online counselling is that there is no travel required, you can talk to us from the comfort and privacy of your home.

  • We are just a click away if you need support or have a question you are not sure about when making a decision
  • Online services mean that you can book a time to suit your lifestyle
  • You can be sure that you will not be judged, that you will have valuable, positive support as you work your way through your problems

Your information will always be protected as your security is our priority.

Building Success Through Counselling With the Help of Sport

As part of our counselling, we run a program called Golf for all ages and disabilities. Golf is a sport that can accommodate many physical and mental obstacles.

Finding the confidence to get more involved with people and circumstances can be helped by going out and interacting with others.

This can be scary for many people, but using golf as a sport can ease you into that comradery and involvement without you feeling out of your comfort zone.

I have been involved in golfing all my life, (I am a professional golfer) and I have found it the perfect way to overcome personal problems and a way to cope during difficult times.

Sport adds a new dimension to counselling… one that provides new insights and opportunities for success.

When it comes to changing habits, there are often mixed feelings. We all have habits . Some good, some not so good and others that are just plain bad for us. However, it’s our habits that identify strong elements of our personality and who we are as people. Habits also serve to put elements of our routine on ‘autopilot’ in order to free up our thinking and decision making. Now, this is a good thing if you are doing the same thing every day and your routine perfectly matches the lifestyle you want to live. When we are not happy with our lives, want to improve our situation or want to improve ourselves, this is when our habits can really hold us back. Because most habits are created and carried out subconsciously, they can be very hard to break. Hard but not impossible. And if you want to be the best version of you and change your life for the better then changing habits is one fundamental element you must navigate. Read on to find out what my top strategies are for changing habits to be the best version of you:
